CURRENT PROJECTS

As of the year 2016, Our main Project is a school and a farm. Our schools are Nursery, Primary and Secondary school. They are all registered with the Ministry of Educaton and Vocational training

WHERE IT ALL TAKES PLACE
The Schools and the farm are located in Butiama, a litte village in Mara Region at Lake Victoria zone. Butiama is mostly known as the Place of Birth of the first Tanzanian President Mwalimu Julius K. Nyerere. Because of that it disposes of an excellent road network to the local infrastructure of the Mara Region.

Mzee Joseph W. Butiku, was born and raised in Butiama, thus he has a passion to bring about development in the area and improve quality of life of its people through creating opportunities, education and aid wherever he can. Among other things, he wanted to establish a school with international learning standards and infrastructure, hence establishment of Mbeza Schools in 2009.

Mbeza  Schools

On a little hill a bit outside of the village the school area of Mbeza Schools is placed. Even if you come from a far away city, you are able to join Mbeza Schools because we are a boarding school. Everyone is most welcome to our Schools and in Butiama.

PROMOTING THE SPIRIT AND PRACTICE OF SELF-RELIANCE
Considering the fact that most of the students are from very humble backgrounds, a big percentage of them do not make it to higher learning institutions in the country. So Mbeza Schools aims at preparing and equipping the students with self-reliance skills to help them fend for themselves especially in this crisis of youth unemployment in the country. The Schools offer business studies and all the “housework” or general cleanliness and upkeep of the School is done by the students themselves. The Schools encourage innovations and creativity through Music, Dance, Debate and Drama, which is all done in the English Language.

The Schools vision: The Schools should be a role model in education for self reliance and to be emulated in the countries of the Great Lakes Region of Africa.

The Schools mission: The Schools provide equitable access to quality and relevant education to all learners and empower them academically, socially, spiritually and physically to become good and responsible citizens as they participate in the development of their nation and Africa generally.

The Schools motto: Education for Self-Reliance.
